Just imagine you can’t create an account on Clapper because it says you already have an account.
Seeing such type of issue during your first use of Clapper is a confusing thing.
So, why people are getting the ‘You have registered an account with his device’ error on the Clapper app?
Let me share something on this topic.
Why Clapper Says ‘You Have Registered an Account With this Device’
There are 4 possible reasons behind this problem which you might be unaware of.
1. You Are Using a Registered Account
When an account is already created on Clapper then you can’t use that same signup option.
For example, I already used my email address to use Clapper before. If I use that same email for a new account then it won’t let me do that. This will create multiple accounts having the same email address.
Therefore try to log in with that ID to see whether it was registered before or not.
If login is successful then you have your answer; otherwise, other issues might be the cause.

2. Account is Already on Use on Other Device
You can’t use the same account on multiple devices at the same time period.
For example, if someone is using my Clapper account on their device then I can’t use that same account on my phone. One person has to log out from their device so that another person can log in.
People often make this type of mistake when they have a business account on Clapper.
One person can’t control the business and content of the account at the same time so multiple people have to be involved in it.
If you also have such type of situation then confirm whether your account is in use on another new phone.
3. Clapper App Cache Issue
Cache can bring a lot of trouble out of sudden on the app.
You can’t tell when will your Clapper stop working, freeze, automatically log out, and other content-related issues.
When you try to get into the app with a new ID there might be a cache problem. That’s because of the previous cached data that malfunctioned.
The best example is signing up for a new account after deleting the same account.
When you delete your Clapper account and after some months you use the same ID to create Clapper, it will recall the cache data.
This is because you haven’t uninstalled the app after permanently deleting your account.

4. Problem on the App
Sometimes app itself brings out new issues that you are unaware of.
An app can be corrupted for some reason or malfunction because of an outdated version.
This is a rare case that can happen from your phone side as well as from the developer side.
Possible Solutions to Fix ‘You Have Registered an Account With this Device’
There are a few methods that might be helpful for such an issue.
1. Clear Clapper Cache
The most first thing to do when you can’t get into your account with login is to delete cache data.
You can’t erase the cache inside the Clapper since you are locked out of it do it from your device settings.
Note: iPhone doesn’t allow you to clear the cache because it means to delete the app permanently.
Now for all those Android users, here are the steps.
- Go to your phone settings.
- Tap on the “Apps” option or search for it.
- Locate and open the “Clapper” app.
- Tap on the “Storage” option.
- Select the “Cache” and clear it.
After doing this, just restart your mobile phone and try to check the issue.

2. Update Clapper Application
When you feel something is not good with your account or app, update it.
An outdated version of Clapper will miss out on the new features, security, and safety.
Besides, the developer also fixes the old patches and bugs in the newer version.
Android User
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap on your profile icon from top right corner.
- Select “Manage Apps and Device”.
- Tap on the “Updating apps” option.
- Check for Clapper and its update.
iPhone User
- Go to the Apps Store app.
- Open your profile area from top.
- Go to the last section of the profile and locate ‘Available Updates’
- Tap on the “Update” button when you see it on Clapper.
3. Change Your Device
When you can’t use Clapper on your current device then switch to another phone for a while.
This is just to test whether the issue happening on your mobile or with the app itself.
Simply grab your siblings or parents’ phone and try to use your account ID. If there is no any error message then the issue lies in your phone.
In that case, you can uninstall the Clapper and restart your phone. After that, download the Clapper app once again and use it.
If that still doesn’t work then factory reset your device only at the last moment when you don’t have any other choice at all.
But instead of factory resetting your phone, you can just create a new account and forget about your current one.
That’s because factory reset will erase everything from your phone and you may lose important personal data.
I personally don’t recommend people to reset their phones just over the malfunctioned installed apps. You can re-download those apps anytime but it will take an effort to collect data on your devices such as gallery photos, videos, documents, and more.
Don’t act too quickly, just think about what you can do to solve the issue with a calm mind.
